Looks like it has an Olds one piece windshield. Maybe some headlight work has been done as well, or maybe just the trim rings painted. Nice!

    Hello,

It is not often you get to see a So Cal custom cruising the streets, let alone during the busy pre-Christmas shopping days. But, to me this was the epitome of a daily driver and a cool way to go Christmas shopping. I had seen this chopped Ford near some restaurants in South OC, in the last several weeks. It went by so quickly that I did not get a photo of it at the time.

But, while on my way to do some last minute Christmas shopping yesterday, I spotted this cool Ford, coming up in the next lane, in my trusty outside rear view mirror.
upload_2019-12-21_3-53-31.png But, I had to wait until this big, white, lug of a vehicle, got out of the way.

So Cal does have cool customs and cruising going on all throughout the year. It was not to a drive-in or weekend hot rod gathering spot (Cars and Coffee/Donut Derelicts). The Ford was out driving in a blustery 64 degrees near the ocean. Daily driving in a very cool car, on a cool day, jacket weather for sure. This is what So Cal looked like back in our teenage days. Daily drivers, not just show cars that we saw in magazines.

chopped Ford cruising on a sunny, cold day in So Cal.

Didn’t grab a picture but saw an incredible 56 Chevy Survivor with 64K miles. One of the cleanest original cars I have ever seen. He and his wife were doing some Christmas Eve running in it.

469CABBA-C0C7-41B1-AEFA-D096F293A5C4.jpeg At a little gathering of enthusiasts today in Tustin I spotted a 57 Chevrolet that seemed to check most all the boxes. Convertible, FI V8 (pretty rare 250 hp not 283 hp), AC, Electric windows and seats, Auto trans, PS, PB, white walls, full caps, etc. Not a lot of junky accessories either. Even the exhaust tail pipes were correctly cut. Could have been a BJ car.

Must be ‘55 Cheby day in Muskogee! While waiting to turn into Wallyworld, a cherry 55 Nomad pulled up, but I couldn’t whip out the iPad fast enough for a picture! Shoot!
Well, I pull in to the parking lot, park, let the wife out, sit there a minute, look up and there’s another ‘55! Got pics of it!

  23. I need that sign! It go perfectly with all the other "Unprofessional" hits we took when upper management walked through our shop last week! Military people have NO sense of humor! ;-D

Older guy around here drives this, Ive saw it several times and looks like he uses it, think its maybe a ranger 4x4 running gear, says F2 on the cab but the old paint on the short bed matches everything else so I say it was built a long time ago from the looks of it, he is still using it like a truck:cool:

    Hello,

We grew up in an old Craftsman house on the Westside of Long Beach. It had wood siding, two bedrooms, built in bookcases and shelving as well as individual panes in French doors and windows. My wife and I have always liked the old style craftsman style and did have some remnants in our home decorating over the years. Modern desert succulents, plus low water need plants give the updated Craftsman homes some upgrades.
    upload_2020-1-28_12-2-56.png
While looking for different styles of Craftsman houses, I came across this gem sitting in the driveway of a $1 mil + house in So Cal. It looks like a chopped Studebaker Truck with a custom bullet nose. Appletons and portholes in the lowered hood, round out the obvious. Because of the shade trees in the area the paint could be a dark primer, as the shade may have created a two-tone effect on the truck.

The more I look at this custom truck, it actually looks sectioned, too. The overall height is too low for just a lowered chopped truck. The patio chair barely fits in the doorway.

    Jnaki

The only other bullet nose custom truck was on Season 1 of Fantomworks. This So Cal version had many things going for it. The custom Studebaker truck might be for the young and flexible, as the entry and egress would be challenging for old creaky bones and joints.

Has anyone seen this Studebaker truck cruising the So Cal car shows or local cruises?
