Bought a "project" 30 ford roadster started by some California hot rod shop, and removed the rear end, was told it was a "early ford" which is obviously a generic term, just wondering if anyone can identify it. Thanks guys!
Looks to be generic (Pre-9") Ford Customline with that centre and pinion flange. Coarse splined axles and high 3 or low 4.1 ratio. Not a Dana 44 as it had had an intergral carrier with a bolt-on backing plate as per 55/56 Thunderbirds and PU trucks.
Good for anything? Not putting it back in the roadster, probably sell for whatever I can get, doubt its worth as much as a 9 inch.
Not really a highly sought after rear end, but has a good ratio for an overdrive. It is a little narrower that most nine inch rear ends. Will work with moderate v-8s. Bones
