Hot Rods Strange Emails

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by ct1932ford, Jan 4, 2020.

  1. A while back I posted a want add for a 32 trunk handle, both here and the barn. (still looking by the way. So a few weeks ago I get an email from some Tom guy with pictures of a nice handle and the message:
" Mark, please find images of the deck lid handle. Tom" I respond with "how much do you want for it and where are you located?" No response! A few days ago I get the same email with the same pictures and message. I respond again and the sender says " I think we've been thru this before, please stop contacting me." I respond "you are the one contacting me" or someone is hacking us. Then he tells me to "go away" So I stop emailing him before I really get pissed and this gets ugly. What do you think?????

  6. Absolutely not me,,,I am computer illiterate.
But,,,I know that whatever you do here,,,someone can see it.
    Here,,,on your phone,,,,anything like this.

Plus,,,I try to be a calming force here,,,too much stress in the world already .

  9. Offer him $1000 and see if his memory clears up.
If he bites, tell him you meant pesos. :p

But yea, I'm with Alchemy, post #2. Someone's got a memory that fades in and out. You might catch on a good day and send the money but never get your handle.
    Keep looking.

That would be easy but not as satisfying as finding out who wants to F#@k you.

The wording of the first response would push the alarm button for me.

You suppose the spammers and thieves have figured a way to spoof email addresses?
