Sounds crisp. Helpful hint: If you want to do any more videos, use your phone sideways. it fits Youtube's 16:9 format and will appear twice as big. Mart.
Thanks Aaron, it took me about 3 hours to get it To run, i had a revpol mallory for a chevy that was machined to fit a flathead, it has the tach drive on it and my tach is an old mechanical stewart warner. I couldnt get it to run with it. It was would back fire, i checked the timing about 5 times. Re stabbed the distributor, checked compression, plugs. Everything. I gave up on it, pulled another mallory distributor i had, installed it and it fired right up . I dont know if that revpol distributor might require dual coils or a special coil. Ill have to do some more research. Im just glad it runs!
Just about got this motor dialed in. Tweaked the timing a little. Only have a few loose ends to tie up and she will be ready for the road. Got my wiring finished up, all my lights work.. Started working on my exhaust. Im using a 1936 driveshaft cut in half. I have the drivers side done. Just need to finish up the passenger side and paint them. I did a quickie front end alignment and set the toe. I ended up swapping my quickchange gears up and now running a 3.85 ratio for now. I have gears to go from a 3.00 up to a 4.25. 3.00 should be a good gear for that long trip to Austin in april. Good oil pressure
Really nice. It's all coming together now, before ya know it you'll be on the road with a big smile on your face.
Well just about done, still need to get the interior panels done and get a top made. But other than that its done. Thanks for watching!
Thanks everyone, this journey took me a lot longer than I expected but i guess thats how it goes sometimes. Glad i stuck it out, and thanks you guys for keeping me motivated. Ill try to get some running and driving video this week. Oh and the car is registered for the 2020 Lonestar Roundup. See ya there
Mikie likes it … But the couple days of drive time does kinda hurt... as we are getting 8" to 10" of winter's white blanket...
I recommend an underdash parcel tray for things like a drink bottle, keys, sunglasses, sunscreen etc puts all your stuff out of site when parked up too. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
That car is so freakin bad ass!!! The Flatty sounds mean and nasty, stance, color, wheels, it's all perfect. Time to enjoy your labor now! Great job man.
