    Hey all,

So I have my "new" air cleaner cut down to the correct height and ready for a finish. I'm thinking of painting it blue to match the block, just because I have the pant and it won't cost me anything. The wife thinks that would look like crap and she like the jethot coating that the valve covers have. I also have a can of black wrinkle paint that might look cool as well.

I'm on the fence, what color would you go with if it was your ride?

    Thanks,

  2. Matching the valve covers would look good, BTW I would finish peeling the paper off the radiator hose.:D HRP

Gloss, black, didn't even think about that, it could work. I like chrome as well but not the price, hence why I haven't jumped on the jethot coat either. Not that I'm cheap or anything but...…...

  8. A nice looking chrome air cleaner is not expensive. Otherwise, I would paint it to match the block...

True but I have very limited hood clearance and a funky Carter carb that limits my air cleaner choices

I think a semi gloss black would look just right, not excited by the blue at all.

Hiding all the hoses and wires as much as possible looks good too for a cleaner look.

  24. I have one of those for my 330 Desoto, and am leaning toward black, as that's the engine color.
Where did you find a base?

So the base is the original base for the stock aircleaner, I just cut it off of the assembly and used a 4 7/32 to 5 1/8 adapter under it for the neck.

I then cut the cover down so it cleared the hood and I'm using the shorter air filter for a 300. 20191107_1016042.jpg

HA! We're a car family I guess you might say. She has a good eye and knows a thing or two about making something look good.
