Yeah..... its a project. '38 Plymouth moredoor. Saw it in a residential area on the side of the road. Lady walking her dog told me the owner had dementia and his son just pushed outside and threw a for sale sign on it.....$200. Looks like the county is gonna tow it in a couple of days. You could probably get it for $50. Rear fenders, grill and a bunch of other parts are inside. Just posting 'cause you don't see anything pre-40's in California in any condition for under $1k, especially a roller!
That would be expensive before you were done. Makes me wonder if it possibly wasn't the parts car for another project. The front axle is probably worth the asking price though.
Suppose there’s a lot of if’s there. Got the room ? Take it. Like it ? Build it. See a smokin deal ? Part it
Someone please buy it for $50 and help get a youngster involved in the hobby. They'll learn alot and make friends in the old car circle. Raise up the next generation while saving an oldie. The bond that could be built between a mentor and student is priceless. And for the buy in price you can afford to make mistakes.
I can't believe thats a Cali Car but it's a big place and some places are obviously wet and possibly salty...but that is a giveaway price...
Don't forget to ask about the other parts? Probably glad to get rid of those, too! Let us know, thanks.
what's a "cheap project"? every "cheap project" I've been involved in, has broke the piggy bank......... someone needs to save it! BigMike
Taildragger, Carson top custom, killer coupe conversation, 4 door roadster. A cheap start, I agree, a project for a brokeass kid who wants to learn, and has the energy and support to see it through.
Somebody please get it before those Fascist from the city take it! They aren't building any more of them, and when they're gone, they're gone.
I'd luv to grab it just because it's so cheap and a chance to save another one but, no room! I'm on a cul-de-sac in a residential area with the roadster, my '54 project and 5 other cars. The neighbors love me! C'mon....somebody local, step up! PM me and I'll give you the info. It'll be gone by Nov 22!
If I wasn't thousands of miles away, I'd grab that and part it out. Looks pretty rough for a project but even a bad grille has quite a bit of value, along with all the other small stuff. And while I was there, I'd bring some extra cash and ask if they had any other "old junk" laying around, that's generally when the good deals really start showing up.
Man, I wish it were up here. I have a soft spot for those old Mopars. I have a 37 Coupe and 2dr Sedan in my stash of crap. (about in that same condition too)
I grew up In Santa Rosa. Grab that thing . I see it's got the grill shell inside. Find a doner car and use the parts to make it move and have some fun . Otherwise part it out . Cant loose really.
Come on. Somebody step forward. It's been sitting too long already. Should be in someone's driveway by now
Haha! Good point, that’s akin to a “Free Motorcycle”! Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
