hey guys I just picked up a complete (sans banger and trans) cream puff 31 coupe and my bestie is offering me a 324 olds motor for it. any snowballs chance in hell that will work with a full hood? I imagine that it would be too wide but Id rather know for certain. And yes I did and serch and no I didnt find anything :)

You will need to sink the engine into the firewall, relocate the steering box, relocate the starter or use a mini starter, move the generator up top like the early 303s had it, fab or buy tight block hugging headers or use early 303 round port exhaust manifolds...
That is just for starters, I considered doing this but chose to go fenderless, hoodless and stretch the frame on mine.

Smallish steering box on top of framerail could work. But I’d say the length of the olds is the biggest issue here.

Sorry...on top of framerail will ”probably” interfere with fenders, haha

I believe that hump on the side is for clearance for the generator. My wife’s uncle did one years ago and he ran without side covers because the generator was sticking out the side a bit, also I believe he was running a Corvair steering box too.

Here's a picture I took of Larry Foss' Model A from back in about 1974. The magazine article on it is from American Rodder February 1989. Scan-191108-0001.jpg
