Gday Guys, After some advice on my 35 3 window coupe front suspension. To me it seems to have been really beefed up for some reason, does anyone know if there was a reason this might have been done. Photos show, the front spring has 13 leafs instead of the standard 12, The front crossmember has a thick plate bolted to the underside and another to the top of the crossmember and the ibeam has had the the back of the ibeam welded solid. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks Sent from my SM-G975F using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Cool to speculate about, but not really good for a street car. At the very least, remove all the extra leaves from the spring.
I have a new reverse eye spring and dropped I beam to install, just thought it strange that it was so beefed up especially with the extra leaf in the spring. I think it will drop significantly when i install the new front end. Thanks Sent from my SM-G975F using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
That’s the beauty of the leaf spring! It can be made lighter or stronger by the addition or subtraction of leafs. At some point someone wanted a stronger spring! Bones
I’m guessing that’s the wrong spring Or someone flattened it to lower it but then added blocks and leaves to get it back up.
