I read this story about a rescued Russian model AA stake truck that fell through the ice into a lake and I was intrigued by the grille emblem. It got my wheels spinning and since I already run a commercial grille, I was wonder, although a long shot I’m sure, if anyone has or knew how to track down one of these Russian emblems. It would be a super cool trinket to have to set a traditional rod apart from the sea of blue ovals Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Keep it Ford. Some yuppie will see the badge and only think it,s an old Triumph TR3 from Manitoba Eh !!
Just saw pictures of this rescue/restoration, thanks for filling in the blanks. This is the second article that I have seen lately about Russian Ford trucks, the other being a '39 pick up that resembled a '34 pu with car front sheet metal. ( I believe they're called a Gaz).
That’s your prerogative. I think it would be a cool conversation piece In a sea of blue ovals Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
I'm not so much now, but if some of you are avid readers then try COMING OUT OF THE ICE by Victor Herman... guy goes to Russia to build model A trucks...
It’s called a GAZ M1 Type 415 Pickup. It’s actually based on the passenger cars, none of the panels are interchangeable with a 34 Pickup. However the panels will interchange with the a 1933/34 Sedan.
Sorry, eh? If you were in Manitoba, eh? it would have a black oval ,eh? instead of a blue one Eh? Sorry eh/ I've seen ones that are red also.
