I remember the Ford coupe that BJR spoke of with the 58 Merc tail light on the roof. The article in the magazine said it was built in 28 days.

I remember it being a '32 Chevy. However, it was ugly.

Gee, to me most things found on custom cars fits into this thread. Wasn't that pretty much the intention for "custom cars" from about the mid 60s on? Lets see how many strange things was can do to our car. A lot of the recent "rat rods" I've seen fall into the same grouping and carry the same thought process. Gene

    Purely one mans opinion.
The "craziest" 60's trend was integrating drawer pull hardware on grills.
I can except the fact that it was as common as angel hair on customs but when I see a hot rod with a drawer pull laden grille it makes me a little ill.

It wasn't meant to mock customs, just see how far the owners would go for show points or how to stand apart from the next guy.

  10. I understand the intent, unfortunately that’s what others turn it into. There are other threads currently going bitching about grills etc.

I would say that we are "jumping the shark" but I know (in my little ole heart of hearts) that there is much more quality content that hasn't been covered yet. This is the "hokey" section that must, necessarily, be represented also. So hoke it up, the best is yet to come.
