I would like to convert my rear brakes to Disc Brakes. Is there a vendor that provides a Disc Brake Conversion Kit that utilizes the early (40-48) hubs and the early Ford rear end housing? thanks, Bob
The last one I remember was from Bell Auto Parts, but Roy Richter and Bell are long gone. The kit used Airheart calipers and a Bell designed bracket, hat and rotor. I’ll try to dig up an old article on them. The Johnson kit is only for spindles, they don’t make a kit for the rear axle.
These are make similar to the Kinmont Brakes available in the early 50’s. I think Kinmont were the brakes sold by Bell Auto Parts back then. I am not posting as Kinmont copies, just identifying an option for a rear disc Brake kit (they sell front kits as well). I posted on another site, and a member clarified that , and provided recommendation. https://www.affordablestreetrods.com/copy-of-rear-kinmont-disc-brake-kit-wss-rear-kit.html
