Technical Need help with a mechanical temp gauge

    Thanks for all the help fellas. I went to a few places yesterday but they didn't have what I needed, but I know what I'm looking for now.

    You are only going to find that adapter fitting at a speed shop, or catalog from one, that sells SW gauges. Quite likely they won't have it in stock. You are wasting time, gas, and effort in hardware stores and plumbing supply stores.

    Any old auto parts store that has a Dorman cabinet full of fittings should have what you are looking for.

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ WRONG!!!!! The adapter he needs is a SW item made for use with their mech. gauge sending unit bulb which has a flange that seats against the shoulder in side the fitting just like the original fitting that has a too large thread to screw into the hole in the head.
    Been down this road several times since the late '50s.
