I've had my place 40 years. Previous owners bought it in early 40s. I'm bush hogging a pasture and see this dirt clump, round, so I clean it in my garage. Under dirt was a black ball, under that as you see is a white shifter knob. What doesn't make sense to me besides where it came from is the size. 1 3/8" diameter, thread is 5/16"x 18tpi. It can't be a mower or tractor and I've never seen a shifter ball that small. Any ideas appreciated. Sent from my SM-S320VL using Tapatalk
Auto correct sucks x100 . How in the hell can jammer be changed to James ? I goin outside to scream potty words !
I'm sure Ralph Nader had something to do with where it landed up. Cool story for sure. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
58-63 Chevy passenger car or early corvair. The spaghetti linkage on the t10 in the 55 has a small ball like that on the handle.
Sorry close ups were blurry but I believe this is at least One Vehicle that used that Identical shifter knob...this is the 1rst time this Gran Turismo has been at the local Cruise...not sure of year but I suspect 63ish... Studebaker always had many interesting race inspired details...The Aluminum small slot Mags were meaty and interesting... I guess the Studebaker Fellas aren't going to be bragging about the size of their Knobs by the looks of things... http://musclecarride.blogspot.com/2017/05/1962-studebaker-gran-turismo-hawk-review.html?m=1 Here's one thing to consider...Did Studes have a 4spd available at that time? If not maybe Corvair did...In the link above there is another Stude running one so it is OEM
Thanks so much for replies. It's so small I can't see how it's practical to shift, very uncomfortable. And how it got down in pasture is weird also. Only thing I can think of is one neighbor used to whack golf balls down in that general area years ago, which ok by me...didn't harm anything, and I've picked up 20 or so. He wouldn't have hit that knowingly...but could it be inside one? Very strange. Sent from my SM-S320VL using Tapatalk
