As far as I know, yes, all gas stations in New Jersey are full serve only. Do not get out of your car or try to pump your own. That should be entertaining to watch. They trialed a couple of self serve stations a few years ago, but it didn’t work out. And the no left turns traffic patterns take some getting used to. They’re usually well marked, follow the signs, and GPS cues. Sent from my iPad using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
MD put in a few right to turn left intersections, here is one below. Crain hwy goes straight through and you can turn left off of it. But to turn left into Crain hwy you exit right then cut across all lanes to the u turn traffic light
I forgot about Jersey being full service gas stations, that could get really interesting finding and fueling fuel cells
Reminds of the scene in Two Lane Blacktop when they are getting gas for the 55 and the gas station guy looks around the back of the car and says to James Taylor, where is the gas tank? LOL. But I agree, I think the attendants will be more then glad to watch us fill our fuel cells.
I was thinking more of the jughandle arrangements like this. To turn left, approaching the intersection you get in the right lane, go through the light, hang right, go around, and end up heading the direction you’d want to go. Often there are small businesses that you’re looping around. Sometimes part of the loop is a side street. Then there are the smaller loops like the one you illustrated. And the traffic circles. I learned to drive in the Midwest, but visit New Jersey several times a year, so I’m kinda used to this, but not like the natives. Sent from my iPad using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
the car is solidly in the sevens with a mild tune up. from now until the race I will completely service the car. new bearings; brake pads etc. the final week I will get the trailer set. things are going as planned. we should arrive at the track on Saturday.
I couldn’t last year but this year I will! I’ll call you later tomorrow, or see you at Buckets? Thanks!
Travelling alone or do you have a navigator/crew? Please keep us informed as I look forward to your adventures.
Finishing up alot of small details then loading up. Heading out at 4:30 am. The east coast has alot of cool things to see. They always send us on cool routes with stops at interesting places. I wonder if we are going to have to get pictures in front of the White House or capital. We will be close to DC. What ever happens it will be fun.
You think you can park in front of the capital with a trailer full of nitro? Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Yes. I'm fully approved by homeland security to have it in my possession. Besides how is anyone going to know what's on the trailer?
How come no cuda squirrel? I was planning on going but a family emergency earlier this year changed my plans financially.
