RIP Jessi . You packed a lot more life into your short years than most will in 80.

  9. Unbelievable.

I'd never known, nor met her, other than enjoying her efforts ... thru the medium of television ... but yet here I am with tears in my eyes, knowing she's gone too soon.

Thoughts and prayers, to friends and family, and wow ... all of her multitudes of fans. What an amazing life.

  10. Very sad to hear this, while I did not know her personally I enjoyed watching her on TV and had an appreciation of her skills in the shop and behind the wheel.
As others have mentioned, there is an inherent nobility in passing while doing what you love.
    Rest in peace young lady.

I saw news of this earlier. Very sad. The Alvord desert is in a very isolated part of Oregon. She has made attempts with success there before with the same team out of Washington state. Just shows her love and invested time and effort into the project. Sorry something happened on this run.

There aren't many women who could roll up their sleeves and do what she did, let alone look as good doing it. Lots of respect for this lady and sure will miss her. Condolences to her family and loved ones.

I remember seeing her at TROG a few years making runs in a the Craftsman speedster. She seemed to be having a blast even at 40 mph.

  17. Oh no! She was the real deal. Not just some eye candy for the juvenile watchers of the TV shows. A great example of letting no obstacle stand in the way of your life's goals. Condolences to her family, team and friends. RIP.

Condolences to the Combs Family and friends on the sudden, tragic passing of Jessi...This is something not at all uncommon to Go Fast...and a fair number of the membership partake in this...It does seem as evidenced by some of the Dry Lakes Video Safety is taken very seriously...When Throttling Down the Track any accident can be severe...

A Sad Day...She Truly Lived Fast and Died Hard...RIP Jessi

Thanks for sharing this most unfortunate news @my2nd40

She was the same age as me and I think it's safe to say that she's probably done more with her life in the past ten years then anyone of us probably ever will

She knew how to live life. Really respected her skills and attitude. She was a great representative of out hobby. This news has been on every site I have been on today, doesn't matter where, she impressed everyone.

Going to miss her on shows. Liked watching her, she seemed so grounded.

I never knew she was into Land Speed racing, I'll always remember her as a cheerful person on the TV car shows. Prayers going out to her family and friends. Gods Speed Jessi.

That video was so sad to watch, lots of Erie things that were said. She died doing something she loved though.
