Technical Please ID ancient speedometer

    4.25 inch diameter, nickel plated bezel, interesting font. Any ideas?

    Could be European, in kilometers. 100 km/h is about 62 miles per hour.

    The numbers stamped on it look like Stewart Warner numbers, they made speedos for a lot of different cars over the decades. It's most likely from a car, I think

    kind of strange how it looks just like a 33 Hudson speedo, if it's from a motorcycle :)

    From the same places that make them for cars. But this one is from a car, not a bike.

    Gene, as Squirrel said Hudson and if I'm not mistaken they used them in the Essex as well. Any plans for it?

    Yes it was made by Stewart Warner. And they made instruments for motorcycles too. A lot of the same parts in car and bike instruments, just maybe calibrated differently. Actually they made speedos for bicycles too.
