I don't see as many now as I did back in the late 70's & early 80's during the hay days of the resto rod but I have been seeing them a little more in my travels, I saw this Greyhound on a sedan on the All Deuce Run this year. Anyone still using them? HRP
I know some people don't want to put greyhounds on their cars because there are a lot of "touchy feely" people out there. A friend was checking out cars at a show and when he returned to his '34, his greyhound was on the ground, broken off.
I've always liked a cool cooling cap on any car. I get asked a lot, what old car was that from?;; "A flying chrome Boobie's V16 " LOL This one was just the top off the first trophy I won with my hot rod in 1959.
Bob, they're packed right now (and will be until the new shop gets built), but a while back I found a '28 Chevrolet "Wheels and Wings" for the speedster, and a recast of a Welsh Dragon for Dad's '28 Dodge
Here's the Motormeter setup for my '28 Chevy Touring, the rad isn't on the car at the moment as I have an engine rebuild under way.
I have this one. I like it, stands out in a crowd, not a "me too" car. I like watching it leading the way down the road. Adds a touch of class to an otherwise rough rod.
My Rabbit came off of a Volkswagon rabbit I ran in a demo derby. It was put on the front of the car and used as an anchor for the bungee cord to hold the trunk closed. I took it off and set it in the radiator hole on my T while I was building it. Everybody got used to it and liked it so I made the aluminum mount for him. Gary
I have this re-pro 33-34 Dodge rad cap/ ornament that I bought to replace the stolen one on the Burgundy 34 Dodge in my avatar. Unfortunately, it was totaled in an accident before I could mount it. ( or fortunately)
I have one of those somewhere around here that was cast as a hat pin with 2 pins to stick out over the bill of a hat
very cool--I have a couple Boyce moto meter ones some where along with a 1914 license Ca brass tag for the firewall
