I'm considering block huggers for the 302 in the F1. Installed correctly the exhaust dump looks to interfere with the steering gear. Flipped or swapped around, passenger header on driver's side and vise versa, looks to be perfect. This brand "Summit" (others are similar), dump slightly to the rear. If I swap sides it will dump slightly to the front which is perfect in the F1. Plug angle looks to be OK. Can I swap sides with the headers? It looks like it will work. Is there something I'm not seeing?
Guys use these when doing an SBF swap in 1949-59 Ford cars HEDMAN 88400's this is what they look like in a '53 Ford.
These supposedly work in our trucks. Haven't personally verified https://www.speedwaymotors.com/Small-Block-Ford-Block-Hugger-Tight-Fit-Headers-Raw-Finish,3822.html
The only issue I could possably see is that the collective header heat in the area of the fuel pump should be looked at closely
Mine is a car but I used some cheapie stainless Fox-body (Mustang) headers on my '50. Ball flange, nice, thick mounting flanges...they work great in my application. They dump towards the back.
