Puzzled, here. The one that they’re dropping the body on doesn’t have a steering column in place, that I can make out. The next one up, with the V8, has one laying across the back of the engine. I wonder when the column got installed. There couldn’t have been enough time between when they drop a body in place and when they had to handle the next one, could there?
A lot different from the way they did it at the Olds Pontiac plant I worked at in the sixties. The fenders mounted along with the hood had to be a paint to work around, also, putting the wheels/tires on had to be harder too.
