I was snooping for content and happened into this well shot group of pics at the recent Jalopy Showdown in the Online Wall Street Journal of Hamber @Marcia putting the Roadster through the paces and really highlighting the passion of what we enjoy here...congratulations on the well deserved press......and you have a really cool Hotrod Racer... Unfortunately if you aren't subscribed you can't read it......perhaps you can see the pics once and then it asks you to subscribe...I was able to see them...but there is a story that required a login...BUT I cleared my history and I was able to see the pics again...so give it a try... https://www.wsj.com/articles/photos-pretty-fast-for-a-jalopy-11557841637 Credit to Photographer, Owner
I did a search for this before I posted the Thread BUT that is only as good as the words you use in search...so my apologies for the redundancy to @jakespeed63...you were well ahead of the game on this news... https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/3-old-fords-in-1-racecar-wsj-article.1150099/
Marcia is also an avid Land Speed Racer with several records at Loring ME. She owned and drove a former 57 Chevy stockcar refitted for Land Speed Racing with a 302 GMC engine. She has also driven at Maxton NC and Bonneville.
And I remember that Corvette! How is the racing coming along? Are you coming back to Loring? Sent from my Pixel 2 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
My timing slip from Loring Timing. This is a stock B engine. Sent from my Pixel 2 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
In the open car and air that is motoring...I can imagine the thrill... It also is evidence that a lighter vehicle makes a difference. Thanks Marcia Any pics captured to share...
At the starting line. Good sides or a tonneau cover might help. Sent from my Pixel 2 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Good Sides... I was trying to think what those were called just yesterday...as there was a roadster and it looked like drop in panels sitting on the trunk area... I guess a Tonneau is lighter...On your Mark...Get Set...
I meant hood sides. A cover would keep a lot of air out. Sent from my Pixel 2 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
