I should have known (remembered) that if you were the same fellow who built the front drive blown coupe in the background (which I saw and photographed on my only trip to the salt flats) that this new car would also be truly amazing. I like the Indy roadster-ish nose. Is the chassis also that way, torsion bars, etc.? I hope you will post some build pix or there is a photo spread coming some time soon in a pub. I love your stuff. Gary. Oh, and can I assume the Cunningham is the real deal?

here is a couple more pictures of it. the car will be heading out to Bonneville .................................................................................................................................I wonder what the shown car will be doing at Bonneville? It is a very beautifully built car. Top notch everywhere that I can see in the pictures. But not a Bonneville car. No class that it can run in and not legal for Time Only. Will it be there as a photo opp?[/QUOTE]

I don't know. only what he told me. he ran his other creation, a roadster at Bonneville and the car was also on the cover of hot rod magazine a few years back.

  7. not my car. built by Andrew Murray. all hand built by him, right down to the suspension.
the Cunningham from what I am told was built from a few original pieces

Never finished it, I got married and moved 1000 miles away and a couple of years later he got Colon cancer and passed away. Unfortunately, he sold all the car junk we had accumulated except for the few things I had taken with me so the car was lost. Was a 9 inch with discs and he did all the frame work there. Would have been super fun..... To this day I still want to find a cheap roller Mk III Spitfire and finish what we started.

Many times I've looked at a Spitfire and had the same desire as you. Those cars have some of the best lines of any sports car ever, would make a terrific and fun car. I think Squirrel has one, with the stock 4 banger still in it.

The gentleman looking it over is an old friend of mine, 94 years old, he drove a brand new $290,000 Mclaren to the event. His Rodding Roots run deep, here is a shot of him from 1950 ! IMG_3244.JPG
