I have been fabricating a set of new Valance panels to replace my originals which are shot.
One question I have is in regards to the channel that the running board sits over.

The channel in repro ones is V shaped but I looked at the channel in my original one and it looks like a U shape.

Were the factory ones V shaped or you shaped ?
    Any help is appreciated.

The running board channel, on the reproduction splash apron, is done on a sheetmetal brake so they don't match the original perfectly. As tb states, the bend should actually be more rounded to accept the rounded edge of the running board.

Thanks for the information, that makes perfect sense.

  5. also note, in both photos, a hole in the bottom of the channel to let moisture out. about 4"in from the ends.
