AJ Foyt #24 Offy & Burt Hellmueller #48 Ranger at St Paul 1956. AJ picked up a pair of 3rds in the 5 days. He won the 1st IMCA Feature he started, it was at Red River Speedway, North Dakota, just before St.Paul Benny Rapp Just won the pole for the 1965 Little 500 with a four lap time of 53.870. Benny finished 3rd. Mike Rapp just told me that Benny built the frame himself and this was it's 1st race !!! 2nd was Rollie Beale, Winners were Bob King laps 1-300 Chuck Taylor 301-500. I found out today that my cover photo was just the back ground of this picture, Thanks again for the full photo Mike Rapp— at Sun Valley Speedway, Anderson Indiana. 1968 Front Row, Ray Wright #98 finished 3rd, Benny Rapp #14 finished 6th & Don Nordhorn #52 scored 15th the last car to drop out.
1958 Local driver Wayne Alspaugh sent the crowd home happy when he captured the Little 500 in 1958. He captured the event in Howard Hall’s Cadillac powered car. (Big V8 power middle two Exhaust valves share the same port, they fire 180 out from each other, so good exhaust flow. That's why there are only 6 exhaust pipes) from Hot Rod 1949 was the Inaugural running of "The Little 500" promoted by Mutual Racing Association. The winner Sam Skinner went the entire distance without making a pit stop. Bob Flock was 2nd and also completed the entire 500 laps. Looks like a numbing seated position.
