Technical Weatherstripping for Cowl Vent

Discussion in 'Traditional Customs' started by spillaneswillys, Jun 23, 2019.

  1. 14truck.jpg I am getting ready to glue in my cowl vent rubber and the way it is made there is a groove on one side. Is that the side I glue in? The other side is flat. Thanks for the help.

  2. Does your vent opening have a ridge for the groove to set on? Or is it flat? Can't really tell from the pic, nice truck though. If flat metal, I'd glue flat to flat. Groove may allow the lid to compress it easier.

  3. The vent has an edge just the thickness of a rolled thin metal edge. I have test trialed both ways and it seems that the groove would go up.

  4. So I think you are right RB
