I have to give it up to Metalshapes. I really liked his car up until the day we stopped by his house on the way home from Lone Star Round Up and now I love his car. It is hard to appreciate how detailed every single little piece of this car is until you get the "Official Metalshapes Tour". And sitting in this thing is really cool because the way the body is welded to the frame and the floor pan is actually at the bottom edge of the frame -- lots of head room with the top on.
There are alot of fenderless rods i like better than this. But my favorite has to be this one because its the only one I am allowed to drive. In my mind, a hotrod isn't a hotrod with fenders on it.
I'm gonna throw my own ride in the mix- It isn't my favorite fenderless roadster, but I built it looking at pics on the ones I love= Ol Bluey, David Perry's Roadster, and tons of unnamed cars from the Don Montgomery books. 28/ 29 A roadsters on A or 32 rails- I prefer Highboys.
Reath Automotive 1929 FORD Altered Sedan Hello, If it weren't for the fact that the motor is set back 25%, this sedan could have been a cool, hot rod cruising down Atlantic Blvd. in Bixby Knolls or PCH for weekly road trips. It had the look of a street hot rod, except for the fact that it was a terror at Lions Dragstrip between 1957-60 when we were actively involved in drag racing. At Lions in this era, there was this sedan that just made everyone look when it came to the line. It was once Koenig/Sundin sedan, Reath/Maillard (a great combo), and the Dosser Bros chopped sedan. Eventually, it became known as the Dosser/ Reath Automotive sedan. You could not walk by it in the pits, without stopping to look at it. It had a white body, yellow frame, yellow wheels…what a set up. It was very loud and fast. Here is a compilation of the runs we were able to film at Lions. Jnaki REATH 29 SEDAN
