Testors '57 Chevy fuel powered model owned by my friend. Almost as big of a Tri five goober as me. He has a lot of stuff from his youth. Some kids just weren't destructive like I was.
Picked up this Buddy L car from a friend at a recent car club flea market. Not in bad shape but was missing a few parts. I fabricated a new windshield and top boot. Checked my spare parts and found a spare tire to hang on the rear. Someone had previously added the red stipes. The rest of the paint and body has a played with look so no repainting is planned.
This one isn't quite HAMB fodder but I thought it was a bit unusual and it was only $5.Made by Eldon in 1968 it is powered by 2 "D" cells(can you even buy D cells anymore?)and is controlled by a hand held device that when the trigger is squeezed uses compressed air to steer the wheels via a long plastic tube.To go forward ,stop, and reverse you squeeze the trigger all the way. Sadly I didn't get the controller with it but found out the operation on line.Another unusual aspect is it is painted rather than color impregnated. Makes a nice display piece and is about 1/12th scale.
10 1/2" long Tootsietoy plastic 1934 5W, after I slammed it and gave it a coat of primer. Might need major surgery to tuck rear wheels in......for now, call it 60's style!
Speaking of Tootsietoy 34 Fords, here are some of my modified versions, I know, I need to get out more....
{ 35cab } nice work on those 34 Tootsietoys. I need to get out more too. Here's a couple old Dick Tracy cars that I modified. So why grow up?
Just found this one at the Monroe swap meet, The Dragon Wagon slingshot, S.Co.T. blown nailhead, Firestone gum dipped slicks, pinstriping and all
Picked this up in Monroe last weekend, Wyandotte speedster. The center piece is not the original but the paint is nice. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Picked the front coupe today, Wyandotte All Metal Products. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
These Buddy L and Nylent pressed steel Hot Rods are some of my favorites. Pretty inexpensive, and cool body styles. They're fun to customize too. Sent from my SM-G920P using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
