He has always had a passion for his cars that has traveled down to me. So at 84 yrs old we start a new project together Sent from my iPad using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Awesome nice project a big thumbs up from me I love father and son projects I've built a few with my dad all o/t. Sadly he's not into hotrods so apart from the occasional help on my willys I'll be doing it alone Luke
Priceless. Funny...you don't look 84, Figgie. That's you on the on the left, I assume... ...with the big smile.
Figgie you are a lucky man, cherish the moments you have with your dad. I lost my dad 44 years ago and i still miss him.
Oh wow how cool is that?? You can just see the excitement and enthusiasm in your pops smile and eyes. Enjoy these days. Once in a lifetime.
my dad's interest in cars was can it take me fishing... when he and mom retired they moved to the side of a mountain... built their own log home... that let me build them a bunch of stuff that helped... great to have my hobby help mom and dad...
Love the pics, new and old, really nice post. You're a lucky guy, enjoy every minute of every day you can with your dad. From your post, I'd say you already know that. Thanks for posting.
Your dad must be a happy type guy. He is grinning in all of those pictures of him both past and present, probably a cool guy to be around. Also nice shoebox Coupe, what are your plans?
Heck , bugger the Beatles song “when I am 64 “ I sure hope I am as fit as your dad at 84 when my son and I am futzing with flatheads . Awesome story, go man go , flatheads forever......,
Be thankful for your time with your dad. My father and I finally got to be somewhat friendly when I was 64 years old. He died 10 years ago at 88 years old. I am now 78 years old, and I miss the short time we were friendly. 4 years was too short.
We are planning on doing a 50’s style restoration with it slightly modified original flathead and overdrive original trans. Body mods will include shaved door handles and trunk lid with fender skirts. So of to my friends body shop for blasting, medal and body work while we work on the components so me pop and my brother will do the reassemble. I promise to keep post of the project as she unfolds Sent from my iPad using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Yes as others have said, cherish these times in your life as you are truly blessed. It looks like a real solid start but the blasting will tell the story. I love the shoebox Fords and have my '51. Welcome and definitely keep us up to date with the repairs.
Looks like a great team effort. I hope I able to still be tinkering on something at 84 yrs old. Good job to you guys.
I fondly remember turning wrenches with my late father when I was a kid. Even at being just short of turning 69 I miss my parents. So enjoy every minute you can with him.
well, I see you did fine some rust on it. Still a very nice straight body to start with, looks great.
Nice metal work. Your dad had flat heads my dad had a flat top and absolutely no interest in old car, soak up as much wisdom as you can. HRP
Same here, my father had no interest in my car hobby. Thought it was stupid and a waste of time and money. A lot of insults and jokes hurled my way. Wow, at 84,enjoy your Pop. I am envious!!!!!!
