Technical 6v / 12v cigarette lighter is there a difference?

    Will a 12v cigarette lighter work in a 6v car?
     
  2. Not correctly.... It won't draw enough current to fully heat up, and it won't 'pop out' until it does...

    ^ this.....It will only get half as hot as it should when powered by 12volts.

    no that is why they make 6 volt that are marked as such.not marked may work if 12 volt on 6 volt

    You will half to use 6 volt cigarettes even though it's a 12 volt lighter. For some reason the lighter knows!:p
