Just wanted to introduce myself. Current builds are a 1949 dodge wayfarer in basically original condition, trying to decide on building up a red ram hemi to swap in. And a 1969 el camino.

Hi & welcome. Should make a nice ride with whatever engine you go with. I just finished up redoing the original engine, brakes, etc on my 1950 Plymouth Deluxe 4 door which shares the same style, frame & running gear to your dodge other than the 2 extra doors.
Many parts are still avalible & so far the only thing I have not yet found is a new water tempo guage and front brake drums. All the other brake stuff is still avalible. If you decide to go with the hemi you should look at heavier front suspension and much better brakes. I rebuilt the original brakes and mine stops ok without problems but I am still running that little flathead 6 engine. Jimmie
