I recently picked up a very cool vintage tach from a boat at the swap meet. The tach is a panel mount and I think it would look real good in the dash of my model A Ford. When I got the tach home I discovered that it is intended for a 6 cylinder outboard engine. Is it possible to make it work on my fathead V8? What do I need to do to make it work?
Pardon...but what's a fathead..????.. And I believe a good electronics guy can do by resistors or replacing the "guts" with other set. Summit actually sells a vintage looking 4-6-8 tach and with the face lip removed it's internals could be us with your face..good luck.
If the outboard was 2 cycle 6 cylinder and you want to use it on a 4 cycle 4 cylinder......well, I'm thinking I should have paid closer attention in math class.......good luck with that!
