I'll be flaming the roadster tomorrow. They're traditional, yellow to orange with red licks. Now the car is Hot Rod flat black. I had planned to shoot clear over the flames but now I'm wondering if I should or not? Will that look strange, shiny flames and a flat black car? Opinions, comments please. Pics would be great too!
    Here's the car....

Paint the car with shiny paint first. Then shine flames.:)

  6. What kind of paint are you using? If you are using BC/CC, which I am guessing you are it you don't plan on it being shiny, then if you want any UV protection at all you will need to clear it.

  7. I would think glossy flames, flat black body, would look good.

  8. Make sure you put a blue outline around them too. Shiny is cool! If you get ambitious, scuff and shoot the whole car with about 75% shiny!

I think both ways would look good. You can always buy clear and put flattening agent in it to get the protection of the clear with the flat or satin look.

Why not paint the car gloss black.....and skip the flames?
