Putting togather a 40 Ford Coupe, think the frame is a 35 and when I went to attach the clutch pedal to the equalizer shaft it not only does not line up but the opening in the frame is not large enough. Any ideas on what I am missing. This is a very traditional hot rod with flathead power, the 4inch dropped axel came with disc brakes, only new part. Thanks

  2. I was under the impression the 35 - 40 Ford frames are pretty much identical but the pedals and mounts would probably be different. HRP

With the earlier frame I think you need to use a 39 pedal assembly, there are some mods you need to do to the hole in the cross member. It needs to be enlarged sightly. Bob Drake has a template. Flathead_Clutchassy_1935-39_85hp.jpg Flathead_Clutchassy_1940-48_85hp.jpg

Thanks Blake:I will check with Drake about template and find out about 39 pedal assembly. I have the earlier housing but used later with 40 pedal assembly.

Looked at all my options and ordered 39 pedal assembly from Drake today. Anybody need a 40 pedal assembly with hold down and brass bushings ?
