Hot Rods moonshine fest. dawsonville ga, INFO?

can anybody local or otherwise give me any info on the moonshine fest? dates places to stay etc. would like to bring my brother and his 40 ford he has owned for almost 60 years. I think it would be a good road trip! any info appreciated. thanks rich

There are several hotels in Dawsonville off of GA 400. There is a large outlet mall in Dawsonville and most hotels in the area are close to the mall. It’s about a 10 minute drive down Hwy 53 from the outlet mall area to the square area where the show is held.

Also convenient, and my recommendation, is to stay in the neighboring city of Dahlonega. There is an University there so it has several hotels. The city of Dahlonega is far less commercial than Dawsonville and has a real Georgia mountain town feel. It has several great restaurants and antique shops. It’s about 15-20 minutes taking Hwy 9 from Dahlonega to the Dawsonville square show area.

I've stayed at the Lodge, Amicalola Falls State Park. Very nice, close scenic drive to Dawsonville, or Dahlonega. Beautiful views. Nice restaurant. https://www.amicalolafallslodge.com/

 

Great suggestion. Amicalola park also has some nice cabins.
