How about some pictures of Model A with rear bumper,I have a 29 model A roadster with no rear bumper. Thank you
Well damn, another guy who does't have access to Google on his computer. Here you go. Most of the stock ones had the split bumper except those with the spares in the fenders.
Here's Don Waldron's Model A roadster that he's been building since the 60's. I've seen this bumper in person, and it's a thing to behold. It's just pipe, with pipe caps, and everything has been chrome plated. The plan back in the day was to fill it with lead shot at the track. The artistry is in the brackets: they're a thing of beauty, arched perfectly, boxed, holes drilled through the box and then those holes fitted with tubing and welded. It looks deceptively simple...until you get close. I'm sorry I don't have a better picture--best I could find online.
I have access to google, but none of the pictures that came up were very good or correct. Sorry I will try again.
Some of the catalogs that came up had short rear bumpers or all the way across, where do they mount, off the bottom of the frame?Still didn't see any good pictures mounted
A fairly large bracing attachment that goes way under the rear of body. I have one to take a pic of if nobody else does.
My assumption would be that google would give you stock options. Being the hamb I would figure you’d get a lot of not stock options
On my 31 Vicky, it came with rear mounted spare and stock split bumper. When I removed the spare, I installed a front bumper on the rear to improve the look, imo. Phil
Well I seem to have upset a few even though I did a Google search for the two cars in post 2. I friggin had to Google it to get photos or search though 30,000 of my own photos to find something. Another search shows a thread on running 32 bumpers on a Model A and that gives a pretty clean look. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/32-bumpers-on-model-a.371088/
Not a good angle but this 31 has skinny Briz bumpers front and rearl Some like them some hate thm but they will take a pretty good wack and fight back.
My '28 Tudor project. Bumper is a 3" pipe with 10 ga. caps welded on the ends. It'll get chromed later.
I had this made as a push bar by an Amish welding shop. He was very curious. It goes underneath far enough to bolt to the frame. . The camera angle exaggerates the distance from the body. Really is just enough to clear the back-up lights, which are Triumph motorcar turn signals re-worked.
