Hi I can't find the original shoulder bolts for the hood hinges (not the springs) in the Bob Drake catalogue. Does anyone know where I can find these or if they are the same as the shoulder bolts for the springs? I tried threading a bolt into the hood, and neither 1/4 UNF nor 1/4 UNC work. Is the thread some weird pitch? Any help is appreciated, thought I'd try before drilling and tapping.
MACS has them. You can get 4 bolts and wave washers...listed under 48 52 Ford truck...same parts as the cars. They use safety wire. They are not the same as the ones on the spring arms on the under the hood brackets. Sent from my SM-G950U using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Are you reworking the hinges while you have them off ? I'm about to tear into my 46's hinges real soon. Mine seem real flimsy with a lot of play in the hinge pieces. Once off I intend to give them a light going over with a hammer on my anvil to try and tighten it all up all of the pivot points. Any suggestions?
