Ive been thinking of building one so i can camp over at Beaver Springs. I know Speedway Motors sells plans how good are those plans and blue prints. I plan on building on to tow behind my F250. Or show me your Vintage campers

I think there is a thread in the "Antiquated" section, you could search for teatdrops or vintage campers.

  3. I am building one, but figured it was OT for this place.

I built my teardrop from the plans from speedway. The plans are well laid out and it is easy to follow the illustrations from the author. My only gripe is that his spelling is atrocious.

This site has a load of free plans for vintage trailers, maybe you can find some ideas here. These plans are 50 years old or more so may take some adapting to newer parts and materials.

An F250 will easily tow a 40 foot house trailer, conventional or 5th wheel. A teardrop can be towed by a stock Model A.

Looks like I'll be needing to let my 1947 Kit Kamper go, pretty soon. They're a lot of fun, and as mentioned, easy to tow. gonna miss it ...

Lilblue 82, be sure that you have a sway bar on the back of your F250 because it makes all the difference when you are towing.

If you are thinking of building or restoring a vintage trailer this guy's videos are invaluable. Larry 'Mobiltec' Walsh.

Here's our 67 Fireball project that I've been working on. Ended up having to replace most of the wood, which sucked. But it's pretty close to being done now. Paint this spring and it'll be ready for use.

If you are building your own, go to the website that RMR&C posted. It is everything you ever wanted to know about building a teardrop. Once you are done, you will meet so many people if you travel with it. You will never be lonely. This is mine.
