Hi guy's, i am planing to fit radial tyre's with vintage look to my ride and wondered, if somebodey
has recent experiance with those Excelsior Stahl Sport Blackwall Radial tyre ?
How do they balance and run ?
I have 19" 650 crosply's on, at the moment and want to replace them for a better handling and grip.
I guess the quality of the same tyre, but for smaller rim diameter, will be the same ?

Put them on a customers Bentley, balanced fine. Grip and handle well. Steering is heavier.

Put em on the 5W in 2016 (5.00-16s and 7.00-18s) and the roadster this past summer (5.00-16s and 7.50-16s) and love em.

I've been very happy with the two sets I've run on my roadster.

I have 3 sets so far and zero problems balancing and they handle well.
They are expensive but you get what you pay for.

Same positive experiences with 16” Excelsiors. Switched from bias to radial and never looked back

I installed 7.00 and 5.50 on original '32 Ford 18" wires last spring. They took a little weight to balance but that might have been the wheels. Nothing that made me send anything back. They drive great!

Lot's of guys love them as I do.
How many guys will admit to running them tubeless on wheels other than wire wheels ?
I know there are lots who do.
When my car hits the road I'll be one of them.
I'm pretty sure the rolling bones guys run them like that, but not positive.

  15. I have them on my deuce 3 window and run them tubeless. Have right at 30k on them now and just bought 2 new ones for the front as have worn the fronts out. Back ones still lots of rubber on them. I had the fronts balanced many times and flipped them around a few times even removed them from the rims and flipped them but they just seem to wear on the outside edge of the tire. Had the front end lazer checked 3 times also. But they drive and ride great. You will need new rims to run them tubeless as if you are running like old 40 Ford wheels you will need to run tubes.
