As I recall, finding the factory piping was a challenge in maintaining this one-owner '55 Merc,
    bought AND chopped when new!

  3. Maybe not quite plush but a picture Rik Hoving posted on his Instagram a while ago. Cool Pontiac concept interior that would look amazing in a custom build. 45272125_177263609887154_8249396191402393600_n.jpg

As I was skimming through the photos of this thread I started thinking I would tack on a short post posing the question: Why do I feel like I've stepped out of a ski boat for some reason? I think you hit the nail on the head best, though.
I'm not meaning to disparage the skills and materials of these great examples from the past. I loved them then and I love them now. Things of beauty are always a joy to behold.

Although I can appreciate the work and craftsmanship , most custom interiors just got to busy for my taste. I have always preferred the classic look of tuck and roll or pleated, whether straight, diamoned or rectangular similar to the one I did in a 34 a couple years ago. SUNP0075 (1).JPG
But then again I have always thought it would be fun to build a pink Caddy with a white interior with leppard print pleats. lol And yes I am a Bruce Springsteen fan. Larry

I can really appreciate all the Naugas that gave their lives for these rolls and pleats, but I hope that crushed velvets and friezes make a comeback too.

I’m with you, but the two&three tone always were my favorite’s. Except when I got around to my car. Then I went crazy with Red. IMG_1806.JPG [IMG][IMG]
