Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by evil1, May 30, 2006.

  1. I realized I had not taken any pic's of my car since I updated the color so I stopped and took some new pic's on my way back from Paso all i need is some one to lay down some bitchen stripeing on the hood and trunk and i will be happy with it for the summer

lookin good. i like the scallops

  3. That's cool, but those gravel guards have gotta go.

That and the bumper guards were the first things to go on my 53 bel air.

Let me word it this way: 'I Felt' that it distracted from the absolutely beautiful body lines of the car. I love the body lines on these 53's so much that I shaved every damn thing off of mine, teeth and all, gone. Now you focus on her awesome fenders with that nice character line, and how the fender flows all the way to the door, back to those big sexy hips and on back to the tail lights.

I do like the scallops though, and I like the color, and I love how low you have it. The body is very straight, awesome work.

So where should I mail a 7/16" ratchet to you so you can take those gravel guards off? LOL

  4. i love the way it looks both with and with out all the trim...On this one i will be useing all the 210 trim i just love the way the 210 spear looks shooting all the way down the side...

x2. I had been kicking around the idea of no side trim, but there was a nice 53 at Kruizin that had the 210 spears, convinced me to straighten mine out a nd get it rechromed. I will make my bumpers 1 piece, though.

Looks good. I agree the 210 side trim does look clean on the 53s. Chaco

That is BAD ASS... I just recently got my 54 and that is pretty much my plans except a little different flat color. Would love to know what air susp kit used and what you had to cut, more or redesign to get it that low. I'm new at this so i'm hoping for as much advice as i can get.

So do the kits sold through Air Ride Technologies not work well or do they just require cutting and fitting to get them installed.

    Thanks

it looks cool..... my wife's 54 will be on the road soon.

  16. Okay I looked at the link you posted I cant find a kit for 54 and older front air ride and 55 is not the same.? If you are going to use the STOCK front clip you will have to get creative and make it work you will have to make or buy dropped uprights or the car will not lay very low you will still be 2 inches off the ground laid out...

That rear end set up looks good, how does it ride? Does it seem as strong as the normal 4 link air bag set up?

Your ride looks great. I am not a fan of these years, except when they are done in a traditional hot rod motive like yours. Great job.
