here we go again. Have two flywheels. Both 48-53. One has 11” bolt circle. And one has 10.5 bolt circle. See pics. Both take or look to have had a 10” disc (long). Did they make 10.5”? If so, what application? I know they had 10” and 9.5. Also, I would like to redrill for 9.5 or 10” clutch to not hit on early top loader trans as I bolted up big clutch from truck and it was a no go. Thanks as always. Anyone near me want to trade for car flywheel with small pattern
10.5 was the mercury borg &beck type pressure plate. only early trannys have a problem with the bigger pp. if you have a 78 series case all will fit. if you have to drill it, i would go for just a 9"--less rotating weight, and you dont say what your building, but most likely not 400 hp in a truck. 9" is all you need. if you go shopping, the 8ba flywheels have pp bolt holes drilled all the way thru, the 48 on back are not.
correct, deucendude, thats why i put the shopping tip in there, but you made it more clear, good for that. i also want to add, what ever size you decide to go with, do not buy the cheapest thing on ebay. buy from ft wayne clutch, american made, balanced, and no further problems after first start up
