472 caddy engine in 57 chevy truck

    Anyone performed this swap or know anyone that has? Just curious about the clearance issues.

    The oil pan on most (except Eldorado) use a front sump. That usually interferes with the front crossmember on most vehicles

    I did a 472 (then a 500) into my 68 ElCo with little problem other than the oil pan (built a deep, rear sump example) and a slight rework of the AC inner suitcase. It was tight, but it worked great.
     
  4. A 425 pan is rear sump if ya need one
