The Ansen was an adaptation of the Corvette 3 speed shifter. We used to buy them for $20 at theChev dealer parts counter, then make our own mount and linkage. Those worked great ! 4TTRUK
I have a new in the box Sparkomatic (automatic transmission) shifter. It has labels for 2 and 3 speed automatics.
I've had several of the Hurst Auto Stick 1 shifters over the years. They were all mechanical, linkage style shifters. The earliest ones made had a welded-on stick, the later ones had bolt-on stick. Hurst then switched to the cable style shifters. I just sold one for a TH400 to a fellow HAMBER. Currently have one in my nephews 51 Chevrolet Business Coupe we modified to work with the aluminum Glide in the car. Then, a few days ago, I bought an original black ball with the zig-zag shift pattern, off that auction site we all know and love, that was listed in the "hydra-matic" catagory, and mis-labeled. A couple of days ago, I bought another shifter for a TH350 that's missing the original stick, again off that auction site. Bought a new stick for that, and should be able to sell it for 3 times what I'll have in it. These are the same shifters that came in the Yenko automatic floor shift cars. Hurst should re-make them; they'd be flyin' off the shelves. Butch/56sedandelivery.
Here's my set of 4-lever Lightning Rods..Came out of an old Division 7 Super Gas car... Just waitin' for the right project to come along
An odd ''knife blade'' shaped stick on this 3 speed shifter. Can't find a name on it anywhere. Had to buy it, NO need for it whatsoever. Gotta buy shifters, 'flake wheels, TTs, gauges,... This morning, my teenage son taught me how to upload pictures. I'll try not to abuse the power!
This is the NOS Ram Rod in the '57. The sticker for the dash is cool, not going on the car, though. Also shown, some of the cache'
Hey chevy57, I have one of those also, bought it back in the 60's, was my first floor shifter, I think I will set it up on one of my Sag'y 3 Speeds. Very Cool.
Interesting thread- I found recently at AAC in a car ready to be crushed a Indy shifter and it looks complete.
I have a Hurst Autostick 1 shifter for a automatic transmission.. I just installed one I bought from a HAMBer on my 454/Th400 el Camino.. They are kind of rare since they don't make them anymore.. I have no idea why Hurst doesn't make another run of them..
my OT 67 firebird has a set of lightning rods (3 lever) in it. bought them brand new in 87 I think . Always got weird looks and questions at car shows
This Hurst inline shifter is in my Morris Minor Gasser build. Bolted to a Liberty prepped top loader.
Chevy57dude: that”knife edge” shifter you have is a Carevelle brand unit. They were one step up from a SparkOmatic, but definitely not on par with a Hurst.
There is nothing really rare about the Hurst shifter in the wagon but it was once in my 63 1/2 Falcon Spring back in the 60's and had been under the work bench for years, I dug it out and cut the shifter arm off the linkage and modified it to fit the T-5 transmission in ladyhrp's wagon. HRP
Yep, These were made by Foxcraft. I helped a friend of mine put one in his '55 Ford back in the mid-60's.
My very first Hurst... My Hurst Auto Stick 1 Shifter from my older brother's non-hamb friendly 68 GTO RamAir 400cid/TH400-4:11posi. I took this Hurst Auto Stick 1 out of my brother's GTO just before he sold the GTO and I've owned it since I was about 16 year's old. I put the Hurst Auto Stick 1 Shifter year's later in my 454/TH400-2:92posi SS El Camino then sold the El-Co and kept the Hurst Auto Stick. My old Hurst Auto Stick 1 has been in the barn for about 30 year's and needs much TLC now and I just recently decided to put the Hurst Auto Stick 1 Shifter in my 63 C10 Pickup with my 327 on a built-up TH350 Trans & 2600 Stll Convert. I can't wait to drive and shift my old friend the Hurst Auto Stick 1 Shifter again it will be great... 1Nimrod
I have a pair of Tornado shifters from Lee's Speed Shop. They are for three speeds and one came off a Cad side shift box.
B&M Series 60 Ratchet. I recently restored this and engineered a reverse lockout for it. It may have been an R&D unit as there were many issues preventing it from being fully functional.
Hurst made some dual gates for Mopars that came with a plastic console that were used in hemi Darts . I came across a couple NOS ones a few years ago and they brought 1500 a piece on ebay. Those are pretty rare.
I'm glad to see that someone mentioned an EELCO shifter. Several years ago. I saw one that was NOS, in the box that someone bought at the Thompson Speedway flea market in Connecticut.
