Here's mine I built years ago. It started out as a 31 Ford slant window 4 door sedan. I sold it about 10 years ago and lost touch with it.

    Hello,

We were fortunate enough to meet Lee at a San Diego Prowler's Picnic. He was a very talented builder and total nice guy. He even tried to vouch for me when we were in negotiations for a 46 yellow woody being sold from a San Diego dealer of old cars. That dealer knew Lee, but still would not cash an out of town check for $2600. We were “out of towners,” being from Long Beach. Lee was ticked off at that dealer from that time on until...

He wanted his sedan delivery in a magazine and we just happen to get down to San Diego to check out the Prowlers Picnic and cars for a possible connection. What a connection it was! The North Orange County and LA car magazines did not venture that far south in those days. I do not know why...

Being at the right time and place was excellent for me. I took quite a few shots, gave away a ton of photos and of course, the hot rod guys purchased some to keep my photo business going. The chopped sedan delivery was very well built, and had all of the latest stuff including that great looking Jag rear end. The Prowler's were/are in their element and this delivery was one of the top cars in that group as far as I was concerned.

It was in a magazine and after the crash, he build a very cool looking 40 Ford Sedan Delivery. My "liking" sedan deliveries goes back to owning 2 of them, but this 29 chopped delivery had the look and the stance of something mean coming down the street. It is too bad that the car was totaled.

  13. Junji,
You need to come down for the last Prowlers picnic this year. After 70 years the club is hanging it up. There will still be a club, but no more picnics. It will be the next weekend following the LARS.

    Dean,
Yes, I have been invited to the last picnic by the Prowlers. It is on my calendar. Plus, it is an hour drive to the picnic, so that is not too bad. I will definitely try to make it, but you never know about family stuff that always pops up. Looking forward to it and it is marked on my calendar. They have been great to me and the friendships that have come and gone.

    Thanks,
    Junji

  16. I learned, at the Prowlers Picnic, that Lee Bright's '29 Delivery is alive and well, and apparently living in seclusion up in the bay area. Too bad, it needs to be out "prowling".

i understood it was a total.?

  18. The fellows I talked to said it was rebuilt to original, including the Skylark wires. The owner just doesn't drive it. So now I wonder what is the real story??

I took this picture of a sad 40 Chevy last summer. It was in the back junkyard lot of “Doug’s 4 Wheeler’s” just outside of Pella Iowa. I’m sure it could be bought. But he probably wants way more than it’s worth since everything he has is over priced.

I recently heard Lee Bright was killed in Oregon in a '40 yellow sedan delivery..
I was in the Muffler business, (so was Lee, rumors abound in ANY business. )
    does that ring any bells?
