Technical Eastwood Contour SCT vs Others

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by hotrodA, Jan 12, 2019.

  1. Thinking about buying one of these for my projects.
I know Flop uses them and the results speak for themselves.
And they are on sale now on their website ($200)

BUT…… anybody ever use a competitor's piece, like Porter Cable, Jegs, etc?
    Is cheaper equal or better?

  2. And

Not sure about a Jegs version. I had looked at an SCT as well and it would be my choice when I am ready to pull the trigger.

I posted this on a previous thread on this subject.

I had the suspicion that this was not something that Eastwood came up with on their own, rather just something they decided to market.

So I searched around a little bit.

Eastwood typically copies other peoples products and make some changes and in some cases improvements.

Either that or they just brand something as theirs.

I’m not sure but you might even be able to get a more reasonable price on the consumables.
Eastwood is expensive I think for the sanding drums etc.

I bought the SCT and have done a couple of small things with it and I am very impressed. It will be a real time saver when I get ready to strip and prep my project. I haven't tested against similar designs but see no need to really. From the videos I watched it convinced me I needed it. o_O

  7. The Jeg's looks a lot like the CSUNITEC. Looks like an angle grinder turned on its side.
    On sale $91.99. reg 198.
