    ^^^^^^^

Pre-production Ford Engineers tested it with both plug locations and found no difference. But the top location was easier to service and they went with that

I stored this 56 T Bird, for a few years. Nasty 70's Build. Top Loader 4 speed, 9" rear, 5 Slots, and a Chrome 3 inch Roll Bar. I tried so hard, to add this to my Collection, but no go. Car is in AZ, from what I understand.

If you leave enough of them alone, in the Shop, they make more... 43362304_10213144051100686_2523871917279019008_n.jpg

I will probably only be able to have them in 1/25 scale.

With cast iron heads they must have weighed a ton. I'd still wouldn't turn my nose up at one though.:)

Of the countless great American powerplants we enjoy, I've always thought the Ford cammer was the top of the heap. Amazing engineering, astounding power potential and just plain cool looking. As dominant as the 426 Hemi was Ive always been curious about how history would've played out had Ford put the 427 into similar production availability.

It would have been quite the battle in Super stock/ Stock eliminator that's for sure.
1968 AH barracudas run deep 8's in the quarter, I'm sure a 68 SOHC Mustang wouldn't be far behind.

  24. It's all speculation, but I prefer to think the Ford would be ahead.

I agree. I've always thought the venerable Hemi dodged a bullet based on the Ford cammer low production numbers.
