I wish! According to my fit bit, 4 pages and I didn't burn one calorie...plus I downed an iced latte so I gained weight reading it! Exercise in futility, I think not. Just plain futility! o_O

  3. Contrary to what you seem to think, I am perfectly calm, takes more than the internet to excite me....I’m sorry my opinion doesn’t line up with yours but it’s what I got. I was simply saying these kind of threads usually get way more attention than the technical ones, which in my opinion is a shame. I’m deeply sorry if I offended anyone!!

Let me add that I think it would be totally different not in print, unfortunately lots gets lost in how we read things, I know I am guilty of it.

I always said gas and diesels were engines and electric was a motor then I saw the bottle of "motor oil"

Now i wonder how THEY could have been wrong all these years? ;)

But it does say “ keeps your ENGINE clean”... lol.

I for one like these light hearted threads, that get some folks pissed off. Kinda entertaining. I still like the build threads , too. Verity is the spice of life. Let’s have both kinds of threads, I like to learn and laugh. Just me.

    And it’s a featured thread!

Hey Beaner, good to see you back here pulling our leg again.
Why do I get the feeling you pulled some shinnanigans out there in the hollers around Cherry Grove!

  8. LOL because I did? Just ask Linda Hatch.

We used to party pretty hardy up at Lee's Falls. I remember getting pretty twisted and diving off the falls. Everyone thought you would break your neck (actually someone did I think) but it was a nothing dive if you knew where the deep hole was.

Nope, this thread has understandably messed with your head. Your reading of this "exercise in futility" became a "futile exercise" resulting in a weight gain. The solution is to do what any old rodder would do for real "exercise". Get back to the shop and look at your car/project for a few hours while downing a 6-pack or two. (and throw the fitbit away) :p

Well I have never heard of an electric "engine", if that means anything in this discussion.

Thank you for this post and I agree..I was taught the same and the fact is it is absolutely true and correct and it had always bugged me too . When we were kids messing with lawnmowers , minibikes and go karts they were “Internal combustion ENGINES!” And we all called them as such .When I was involved in slot car racing at 14 -15 years old the power was from an “ELECTRIC MOTOR!” That was the early to mid ‘60’s. I never here a electric motor called an engine. Then sometime in the ‘70’s I first heard of
a car engine being called a motor. I’m not sure how it got started but maybe two possibilities were the Chiltons motor manual publications and Motor Trend magazine both using the term motor for automotive engines and anything automotive related made it acceptable whether it was right or wrong. The term still bugs me but at this point it is hopeless to ever straighten out since nobody really cares about right or wrong anymore.
