The late Malcolm Brady ( my HERO ) from Columbia Tn at Nashville Tn Fairgrounds. I believe he was track champion 2 years at Nashville. The starter was Forrest Prince and Mr J D Stofel ( mechanic ) to right of Prince. This was in 1960.

I would think late 60’s or early 70’s with the trophy girl being in bell bottom and hip hugger jeans! What’s with the driving shoes Darrel?

 

Actually the driving shoes are very period correct......most guys wore some sort of leather boot.....cowboy boots.....wellington boots......etc. ........not really any Nomex driving shoes at the time.

Dye her hair purple, toss a ring in her nose and a couple tat`s of flaming baby skulls w/ daggers in their foreheads and she`d be perfect!

 

When I started running sprinters, along with various boots, the footwear of choice was boxing shoes. They were leather, had high tops, and thin soles which gave better "pedal feel" along with being more flexible than other boots.

The one who seemed to draw more attention for his race day footwear was NASCAR driver Dave Marcus who wore wingtips.

 

That's because Dave was cool.

 

Wow...didnt know Phoebe Buffay ( Lisa Kudrow ) had a sister that hung out at the dragstrip!

Ursula did a lot of things that involved the strip if I remember correctly.
