Technical John Deere MT Steering Gear Box for FED?

    That thing looks like it belongs on a tractor. The whole concept of FED is the smallest and lightest possible, best leave tractor and bulldozer stuff where they belong. A 'Ross' box would be a good choice, if you have some machining capability a Corvair box that is cut down is a niece piece, if you have the budget you might be able to find an SPE box that would've been used 'back in the day'.

    As they say: you can make anything work. I always thought the JD MT was a cute little tractor and I like the way you're thinking outside the (steering) box.

    Lock to lock numbers will possible rule it in or out for most projects...
