Hey everyone. I just recently built a 283 SBC which is running a quadrajet and a melling MTC-1 cam. I was told by a friend that this cam doesn’t gain any benefit from having a vacuum advance setup on it. I thought that strange. I figured that cars typically idle better, run cooler and more efficiently with a vacuum advance. This cam’s maxim torque range is low - from idle to 4000rpm. What is the general consensus here? Cheers in advance, Hambers!
Good! I haven’t found any info to back up not running vacuum advance on this block. It sounded like strange advice to me. Glad to know I’m not alone! Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
