Technical Front shock mount questions on 32 High Boy

Discussion in 'Traditional Hot Rods' started by qmdv, Nov 27, 2018.

  1. I have some lower shock mounts from Speedway that bolt to the spring perch under the front axle. I have modified some F-1 front shock mounts that bolt to original front cross member rivet holes. The measurement between the upper and lower is 16 inches. That seems like a pretty long shock. Does anybody make a spring perch with a shock mount on it that would come off above the axle.

  2. Re-make your upper....But I suggest you find the shocks that you want to use first.,,,.bottom of axle is correct way to do what you are wanting..

  3. Pretty easy to shorten the riser. The lower mounts are offset so if I off set them inboard I will not have to shorten as much.

  4. I am thinking that the riding length should be about 1 1/2 inches less than the extended length
